Hopefully you found the plugins in part 1 useful and helpfull. I didn’t origionally plan for this to be a 2 part post but the same day I posted the origional post I came across a bunch of new plug ins. So enough with the speech – here be part 2!

Broken Link Checker

A nice simple little tool which checks for any broken links that you may have pointing from your posts. Not seen what happens if you do have a broken link as I don’t have any… It wouldn’t look very good if I did now would it!?

No Self Pings

Everyone loves comments on their posts and it’s nice to see a big list of them at the bottom of the page. What can spoil it a little is if you have a related post which links to another post on your site which causes a “ping” and leaves a comment. By installing this plug in you can keep your comments nice and clean (apart from the spam… just delete that).

SEO friendly images

The plug in description is perfect, so I’ll let it speak for itself – Automatically adds alt and title attributes to all your images. Improves traffic from search results and makes them W3C/xHTML valid as well.

SEO Slugs

Depending on how you have your post URL’s set up it usually includes the title of the blog post. This plug in removes words like “and” “is” “you” etc and leaves the URL more SEO and keyword friendly.

Position Yourself

Yes this does sound like you can choose your position in the search engine rankings (First!) but sadly it isn’t that. What Position Yourself does is find the position of your blog for your chosen keywords. Great for tracking your SEO progress up the ranks

Enjoyed this two part series. Just to flag you–my template actually broke with the broken links plug-in.

It is a useful tool but I was not able to access my site at all until I removed it–make sure it is compatible or if you have trouble after using it just deactivate or remove it.
