My twitter profile is still without the search and trend features that have been rolled out but what I have noticed is the “older” link to go to a previous page of tweets from people has been replaced with a large “MORE” button.

Twitters new more button

Twitters new more button

Once clicked the page extends to show some more tweets and then you can click the more button again to show even more. A bit quicker then loading a new page.

Not a major update by all accounts but is it another way for twitter to keep the site fresh.

Now… wheres my search and trends!

Twitter have started to roll out a search and tends feature to the top of peoples profile pages. This does seem to be taking time (I don’t have it yet) but then again Twitter is very popular now with many people having an account (sometimes more). This feature will allow easier searching as before this the search was located on another page with a link at the bottom of peoples profile pages. As soon as I get access to this feature I’ll update this post.

Flickr have announced that from today everyone can upload videos to flickr – a feature which before now, was limited to those only with a pro account.

This does come with some limitations

  • only 2 videos can be uploaded per month
  • Videos are limited to 90 seconds or 150mb in filesize.

Flickr are trying “something new” as it’s trying to push people towards using the feature to upload a “long photo”. Whilst an interesting idea people are still going to upload random rubbish (but then again the same exists on YouTube and we have learnt to ignore it)

So what about Flickr video for SEO.It can be used as another video syndication site to allow more people to find your video (a short one!) and visability of the video and brand is always a good thing (as long as the content is positive towards the brand!) but what we will see is how useful it is compared to other video sites after a couple of months and if it is worthwile including Flickr video in your video syndication plans.
